Reed Accountancy are proud to be working with a business in Huddersfield who are recruiting an Assistant Accountant to join their team. This is a full-time position, offering hybrid working after the initial training period. You will provide general accounting assistance to the Group Director of Finance. The ability to work independently and communicate well is important due to remote working.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Raise sales invoices
  • Code and post purchase ledger invoices
  • Reconcile purchase ledger accounts
  • Post cash to sales and purchase ledgers
  • Prepare Accruals and Prepayments
  • Assist with management account preparation and analysis
  • Reconcile credit card sales receipts
  • Assist with year-end financial accounts
  • Liaise with customer and supplier accounts
  • Report creditors and debtors balance
  • Credit control of sales invoices
  • Bank reconciliation for group company bank accounts
  • Code and post staff expenses
  • Calculate commission for the BD team

You will need to demonstrate:

  • AAT qualified or studying towards ACCA, CIMA or similar
  • Experience with Sage 50
  • Educated to A level standard
  • Minimum 3 years of demonstratable experience
  • Good knowledge of Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP’s)
  • Accurate and reliable
