Our client, a niche business based in Chorley, are currently recruiting for an experienced Assistant Accountant to work alongside their finance manager. This varied and exciting role needs an experienced person to produce accurate financial reports as well as run the transactional processes for the business.

Duties include:

  • Preparing monthly management accounts
  • Control account and intercompany reconciliations
  • Dealing with the fixed asset registers including movements and depreciation entries
  • Accruals and prepayments
  • Cashflow forecasting
  • Commentary and analysis of variance against budgets
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Purchase ledger duties including processing, dealing with supplier queries and processing supplier payments
  • Sales ledger and credit control duties including allocating payments and chasing overdue accounts where necessary
  • Supporting the implementation of finance IT systems

Due to communicating regularly with different sites, you need to be a confident communicator who is comfortable dealing with people at all levels. You must have excellent time management skills, work accurately whilst under pressure and have strong IT skills, specifically Excel.

In return you will be paid a competitive salary, have 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, have the option to work from home 3 days per month, receive contribution for dental care, prescriptions, opticians etc, receive a good pension and free on site parking. The company will also pay for study (AAT, CIMA, ACCA) should you wish to study, however this is not essential if this isn’t something you wish to pursue.
