Assistant Accountant

Robert Half Finance and Accounting are currently looking to recruit an Assistant Accountant to join an exciting Professional Services company experiencing huge growth based in Bath. For the right person the client is offering a very competitive:

£28,000 - £35,000 plus excellent benefits including study support for AAT/CIMA/ACCA and hybrid remote working

Role responsibilities will include but not limited to:

• Review at least weekly the accrued and deferred income balances, and complete appropriate route cause analysis to highlight and resolve any systemic issues (system, process or people driven)
• Perform a weekly reconciliation of orders to ensure business have been invoiced correctly
• Reconcile the account on a daily basis and ensure funds received are accurate, posting adjustments where required
• Produce and maintain a series of management information reports used by the wider business
• Work with the Business Development team in relation to benefit providers, to ensure that accruals and reporting is complete and accurate
• Ownership of intercompany balances with various other group companies, including routine postings and reconciliations, as well as investigating any differences
• Support the tax team with VAT feeding into the group VAT return
• Proactively review and work within company policies, standard operating procedures, company and legislative updates to ensure you are working in line with best practice and business risk is minimised

Person specification:

• Currently studying AAT/CIMA/ACCA
• 1 years experience with month end responsibility
• Excellent working knowledge of accrued and deferred income
• Strong communicator
• Intermediate level Excel
