My client, a leading, modern, successful and established company based in South Cerney is looking to recruit an experienced Assistant Accountant for a permanent career opportunity with hybrid working options available if requested and study support if requested as well.

Salary is circa £30k to £38k depending on experience

The role:

Responsible for supporting daily, weekly and month end accounting processes, undertaking credit control, customer query resolution, customer set up/maintenance amongst other tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Sales invoice processing with daily sales reporting and responding to customer queries.
  • Review and issue pricing support credit notes monthly.
  • Credit control. Responsible for debt collection and maintenance of customer collection files.
  • Customer account set up and maintenance, including submitting credit approval forms.
  • Reconcile Intercompany accounts monthly and resolve queries.
  • Support month end close and accounts preparation. Preparing balance sheet reconciliations and processing month end journals.
  • Support completion of VAT returns, including ECSL and Intrastat.
  • Work with operations department to ensure smooth day to day running of the business.
  • Support statutory and internal audit documentation requests as required.
  • Manage shared finance inboxes and respond to queries.
  • Cover both Financial Controller and Finance Admin assistant in time of absence.
  • Ad hoc financial analysis and other administrative tasks as required.

Skills / Attributes Required

  • Accounting experience, may be qualified or qualified by experience, or AAT or similar, with at least 5+ years of bookkeeping experience.
  • Effective communicator.
  • Intermediate Excel (pivot tables, V-lookups, Sumifs).
  • Sage 100 experience would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Ability to identify and resolve issues independently.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Well organized with excellent time management skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Maintain a professional and polite disposition at all times.
  • Approachable and personable nature.
