Harmonic are delighted to be working on a retained basis with a luxury fashion brand in their search for an Assistant Accountant to join their growing team. They are looking for an ambitious individual to grow in line with the business and consistently learn and develop.

Founded five years ago and having grown organically to circa £5m annual turnover, our client are making strides within the luxury fashion world, and are fast becoming a household name, with countless celebrity endorsements in recent years. Culturally, they are a small, close-knit team who actively encourage collaboration and creativity, and you will be surrounded by the industry's most creative designers in their boutique office space.

Reporting to the Finance Director, you will be tasked with complete oversight over accounts payable and receivable, while also being able to support with more commercial duties such as budgeting and forecasting, in line with the company's goal to shape you into a top all-round finance professional as you progress.

Responsibilities

• Ownership of all aspects of accounts payable and receivable
• Bank and balance sheet reconciliations
• Accurately reporting all transactions to ensure accurate financial statements and reports
• Journals, prepayments and accruals
• Monitoring and forecasting cash flow
• Preparing VAT returns
• Performing weekly payment runs
• Credit control - ensuring receivables are collected on time
• Assisting with budgeting, forecasting and management accounts in the medium-term

Essential qualities

• 3+ years of experience in transactional finance in SMEs
• Xero experience
• AAT qualified or a degree in accounting/finance
• Desire to consistently undertake additional responsibilities and progress
• Keen interest in the luxury fashion world
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Desirable qualities

• Background in luxury retail or a product-based business
• Studying for ACCA or CIMA

Salary: £30,000 to £38,000

Location: London
