The primary purpose of the Asset Value Analyst is to improve and maintain the asset replacement model for E.ON's growing portfolio of 9m meters, including ownership of the costing and commercial implications of the plan, providing recommendations to balance optimising commercial and operational benefits whilst minimising customer impact. This will include constantly evolving the costing models to respond accurately and quickly to new ideas, smart meter technical performance, market developments and replacement profiling.

The role will involve regular liaison across Smart Assets and Commercial, Finance and Data teams to gather an asset portfolio performance understanding and use this to update, evolve and design models which provide necessary commercial insight for both strategic replacement programmes and shorter-term asset management interventions

Main Responsibilities

  • Responsible for calculating and communicating all cost and risk scenarios to drive changes to replacement plans and optimise value elements for our Asset Strategy Teams 2033 replacement strategy.
  • Build, develop and maintain asset replacement cost and benefit calculation models that provide accurate and timely output in response to resource, activity and timing updates, plus other variations advised from the Asset Management and Policy Manager.
  • Ensure all commercial attributes of the replacement model are accurate and based on current and latest forecasts covering our wide portfolio of products.
  • Undertake detailed analysis and assessment of replacement models, and provide insight, options and recommendations on how to optimise commercial and financial benefit, including OPEX, CAPEX and cashflow considerations as appropriate.
  • Own the stakeholder relationships with SFC finance and contract management to ensure aligned financial and commercial attributes are included in all modelling
  • Incorporate the installation of Net Zero Solutions into the replacement plan, completing cost benefit assessment of a variety of operational scenarios to provide insight and recommendations on further job "bundling" opportunities
  • To complete and own cost benefit analysis completion, modelling options and proposals for a wide range of Smart Asset and Commercial team scenarios
  • To own and maintain the FTE modelling, planning and costing for Triage and QA resource, integrating current and future volumes of asset delivery and returns into capacity and facility requirements
  • To own and maintain the monthly cost forecast for smart meter returns, receiving volume information Asset Strategy team members and ensuring alignment with Finance
  • To provide cost, benefit and risk reduction quantification to business cases supporting new system and functionality requirements with Digital Technology (DT) and change teams
  • Provide proposed charges to 3rd parties where Asset Lifecycle Management services are provided to other E.ON companies (including other regional units) or 3rd party customers

What we need from you

  • Proficiency in analysing and interpreting diverse, complex data sources.
  • Ability to build and propose cost benefit business cases, with experience in developing and evaluating different, fully costed options and scenarios
  • Experience of processing large, complex data sets and be able to manipulate the data to use in a variety of meetings for multi-level stakeholders to provide updates recommendations and trends.
  • Experience of building complex analytical models through Excel, Access, Power BI, Snowflake, SQL and other software.
  • Experience using enterprise systems and software packages and management of data quality based on these.
  • Ability to use knowledge and expertise to identify and understand complex problems and recommend solutions.
  • Ability to establish, develop and maintain effective relationships with both technical and non-technical stakeholders up to middle management level.
  • Experience of working in a business analysis position
  • Experience working a complex business with a strong analytical and commercial background.
  • Delivery focused
  • Full driving licence.
