Our client is a multi-million-pound business operating out of three offices in the UK. They are recruiting 2 x Assembly Technician’s to join their friendly team. The Assembly Technician will be responsible to accurately assemble, test, and package our products for delivery to designated locations. Assume responsibility for managing your time effectively once job assignments are allocated, ensuring a seamless process from production to final delivery. This is a full-time role working from either 6am - 2.30pm or 8.15am - 4.30pm (Monday - Friday). Our clients preference is recruit temporary to permanent, but they would also consider permanent for the right candidate. The salary on offer is £22,000 - £25,000 depending on experience, plus 25 Days Holiday [includes Christmas shutdown period], Employee Assistance Programme - [Legal, Advisory, Financial, Health & Counselling], Company Pension Scheme, Life Assurance Package and Subsidised Gym Membership

Responsibilities:

  • Proficiently build and configure equipment, including Ebus, Mbus, and Area Controllers.
  • Use production diagrams and instructions to assemble the above components, prior to testing using the appropriate test jigs/software.
  • Assemble sub-assemblies for stock for future projects.
  • Inform Supervisor about stock levels, ensuring sufficient time to reorder essential items (e.g., casework, leads, plastic mouldings).
  • Demonstrate confidence in using hand tools, including electric screwdrivers, wire cutters, spanners, and screwdrivers.
  • Participate in stock counts throughout the year and during year-end assessments.
  • Be confident to be able to blow chips/load operating software onto microprocessors, ensuring the addressing for the unique number is adhered to.
  • Ensure consistent use of personnel protective equipment (PPE).

Salesforce:

  • Demonstrate confidence in navigating Salesforce using relevant pop/worksheets sheets and filters.
  • Take responsibility for moving an allocated/assigned project build their own personal pop/worksheets sheet.
  • Break down complex tasks using filters (e.g. Mbus, Ebus, floors), to divide up project builds into manageable/sensible quantities of builds. For example: a floors worth of equipment etc.
  • Upon assembly completion, test products by scanning PCBs through Salesforce using a QR code reader, identifying and highlighting any non-conformities.
  • Create accurate delivery records in Salesforce, including J numbers and workshop technician name.
  • Take responsibility for calculating the number of boxes required for delivery, assign these requirements in Salesforce based on the information from the POP (proof of production) sheets.
  • Upon completion of the packing process, create and print labels for both the inner and outer sections of the boxes using Salesforce.
  • Assume responsibility for updating Salesforce to indicate delivery completion, ensuring timely notifications are sent to the owner regarding the readiness of the goods for shipment.
  • Before the driver departs, ensure the delivery manifest in Salesforce is fully completed for goods leaving the premises. Assume accountability for cross-checking physical deliveries to ensure their accuracy.
  • As needed, review the delivering manifest from the previous day and scan it into the 'Proof of Production’ folder to confirm delivery to accounts. In cases of non-delivery, consult with the production owner to arrange for another delivery attempt. Ensure that all relevant information is accurately recorded in Salesforce.
  • When arranging Fastrack deliveries for goods out, ensure that the productivity delivery note accompanies the items to ensure smooth handling accurate tracking.
  • Accurately input the contact numbers and details of our delivery drivers into Salesforce to ensure efficient communication and timely updates.

Goods In/Out:

  • When receiving or dispatching deliveries - in the absence of the Stores Controller, check that the details on the delivery note match the actual goods in/out and ensure copies of delivery notes are stored in the correct location.

Case Number Allocation:

  • Ensure that a unique warranty case number has been allocated by either the Production or Aftersales team
  • Log the relevant goods under warranty in Salesforce.

Equipment Verification:

  • Double check the equipment, cross-referencing it with the report received from the site.
  • Verify that the equipment is safe for testing.

Testing and Documentation:

  • If the equipment is deemed safe, conduct the necessary tests.
  • Log the test findings accurately into Salesforce.

Exception Handling:

  • For any goods that are not safe for testing, escalate to Francis for in-depth evaluation.

Skills and Experience:

  • Good manual dexterity
  • Meticulous in your work
  • Able to follow strict documented processes
  • Working to and achieving KPI's
  • Able to complete production documentation
  • Familiarity with production diagrams and instructions.
  • Ability to use hand tools (electric screwdrivers, wire cutters, spanners) confidently.
  • Experience with blowing chips and loading operating software onto microprocessors.
  • Previous exposure to stock management and stock counts
