General Operative - Assembly

Salary: £11.44

Hours: Days regular (Monday to Friday)

  • 7.00 am to 4.30 pm Monday to Thursday
  • 7.30am to 12.30am Fridays

Contract: 12 Temp to Perm Position Available

Generation People is currently hiring for and working with a well-established company based central to Chesterfield. Due to expansion, our client is looking for two General operators to join their growing assembly team on a temporary to permanent basis.

We are looking for someone who can work in a sometimes fast-paced environment and can produce a high standard of assembly work, as our client works in various sectors one of which being the healthcare industry.

Although candidates with an assembly background would be advantageous, our client offers significant guidance and training opportunities.

Daily Duties for General Operative include:

  • Assembly of products to bespoke designs and client specifications.
  • Working on the bench and/or operating various machinery
  • Quality checking own work
  • Operating various hand tools
  • Working with a variety of plastic materials
  • Assisting with packing and despatch of completed products ready for delivery.
  • Adhering to health and safety procedures
  • Maintaining a clean workstation and production floor.
  • Any other associated duties within this role

Candidate Requirements:

  • Conscientious and hard working.
  • Experience in assembly, manufacturing or production work would be advantageous.
  • Must have good hand-eye coordination & attention to detail.
  • Team Player and able to work on own initiative
