Job Description: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Aspiring Educational Psychologist/Learning Support Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide tailored assistance to pupils with a range of learning needs. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to pupils with special educational needs or disabilities (SEND), including those with autism, dyslexia, ADHD, and other learning challenges
  • Assist in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and behavior support plans (BSPs), under the guidance of the SENCO and class teachers
  • Support pupils in accessing the curriculum, including adapting materials and resources to meet their specific needs
  • Foster positive relationships with pupils, promoting their social and emotional well-being and encouraging their independence and self-confidence
  • Assist with classroom management and behavior management strategies, ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students
  • Collaborate effectively with teachers, SENCO, and other professionals, including external agencies and parents, to ensure coordinated support and communication

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people, preferably in a school or educational setting
  • Knowledge of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), including relevant interventions and strategies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with pupils, colleagues, and parents
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards supporting the diverse needs of students
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
