Tradewind Recruitment are actively seeking a 1-1 Teaching Assistant to work with a named student with ASD at a secondary school in the Ashford area. The hours are full time between 8:15am and 3:30pm with a daily rate of between £80 and £100 depending on experience.

The role:

• Build a strong rapport and trust with the student to create a supportive learning environment
• Implementing Individual Education Plans (IEP’s) and adapting teaching strategies to meet the needs of the student
• Providing academic support across various subjects and assisting with organisation and time management skills
• Facilitating social skills development and promoting inclusion within the school community
• Collaborate closely with teachers, SENCO’s and other staff members to ensure a cohesive approach to supporting the student

Requirements:

• Experience of working with individuals with ASD, preferably in an educational setting
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Patience, empathy and a genuine passion for supporting students with diverse needs
• Hold or be willing to apply for an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
• CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible
• Legal right to work in the UK
