Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging art lessons that align with the school's curriculum and educational standards.
  • Nurture students' creativity and passion for the arts through the development of innovative teaching methods.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and encouraged to express themselves.
  • Assess and evaluate students' progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance for improvement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the Art department to share best practices and develop cohesive schemes of work.
  • Organize and participate in extracurricular art activities, such as art clubs and exhibitions, to inspire and showcase students' talents.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress, ensuring compliance with school policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Art Education or a related field.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience teaching art at the primary/secondary level.
  • Excellent knowledge of art history, techniques, and various artistic styles.
  • Strong classroom management and behavior management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to the development of the department's curriculum.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with students, parents, and staff members.
  • Familiarity with educational technology and willingness to integrate it into teaching practices.
