Salary: to £32k

Aspire Jobs are delighted to be working with a well-established, well run and growing local charity with a number of sites across Dorset.

They are now looking for an Area Fundraiser to build existing, and attract new, corporate and community supporters to the charity.

The successful area fundraiser will be an inspiring communicator with a proven ability to develop positive relationships both with businesses and individuals. You'll be highly organised in order to develop plans, managing competing priorities and problem solve effectively. You will have a "can-do" attitude, with a flexible approach to your work, and have the ability to work and network outside of normal office hours. You will be able to work on your own initiative, be calm under pressure and have a passion for charity work.

The area fundraiser will be responsible for maximising promotion and participation of community and corporate fundraising activities to raise funds for the charity.

You will inspire support and help raise the profile of the work of the charity across community groups, associations, companies and schools by providing talks and presentations about the organisation.

You will act as the first point of contact for individuals, groups and companies fundraising on the charities' behalf, providing information, support and advice and delivering excellent supporter care.

Developing new and existing relationships, networking, and identifying and approaching potential supporters is key to the role.

To be a successful Area Fundraiser, you will:-

  • Have some previous fundraising experience dealing with corporate business as well as individuals
  • Have previous networking experience
  • Supervised fundraising events or activities previously
  • Creative and driven to achieve results with a limited budget
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills - able to build relationships at all levels
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Organised and able to work effectively to multiple deadlines
  • Reliable and honest with a can-do attitude
  • Strong team player
  • Personable and comfortable liaising with people from all backgrounds
  • Self-motivated and hard-working
  • Be IT literate - MS packages

Main Duties

Planning

  • Develop and plan a programme of innovative initiatives to promote corporate and community engagement, in line with the fundraising team's annual calendar of events and campaigns.
  • Support with the annual budgets and objectives relating to the Area fundraisers income.

Relationship Management

  • Build and develop relationships with event goers, supporter groups, volunteers, ambassadors and the wider community to generate support and maximise income.
  • Prepare and present opportunities to encourage support/fundraising from businesses and the community.
  • Attend networking events in the community to promote awareness and attract local support.
  • Ensure supporter inquiries and requests are managed promptly and effectively.
  • Maintaining strong relationships with existing and new contacts to encourage ongoing support.
  • Responsible for the thanking of all donors.

Monitoring

  • Provide regular fundraising updates to the Fundraising Manager, detailing performance against the annual plan, objectives and budgets.
  • Ensure that all communications with individuals and businesses are recorded onto our database. Analyse supporter history on the database to inform future income.

General

  • Other duties as may be reasonably required by the Fundraising Manager on either a short or long-term basis.
  • Ensure practice is in accordance with their Policies at all times.
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of the charity’s work and the needs and circumstances of patients, families and friends.
