Who you`ll work for
The West-Midlands based organisation provides specialist employee & lone worker safety monitoring and outsourced control room services to Manned Guarding, Cleaning and FM Companies : From corporations employing thousands down to small and medium businesses` employing just a few. Due to continued growth, they are now looking to employ an eager Apprentice Developer.
Your core responsibilities will include maintaining the mature extranet product and to assist in the development of new Smartphone based products. The main product is a large data driven VB.NET web application that makes use of VoIP. We are seeking to maintain existing Smartphone companion apps and create new apps. The role will involve development on current projects as well as new projects from an early stage. This is an ideal opportunity for you to gain experience in many areas including software development, database architecture and system design.
What experience and skills do I need?
You don`t need loads of professional experience in IT, however, you`ll need at least five GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade C or above including Maths, English and IT / Science. Ideally, you will also possess an A-Level, BTEC Level 3 or Level 3 Apprenticeship (or equivalent).
You also be a bright, intelligent person who is very willing to learn and develop. Whilst a strong interest in technology paired with the ability to grasp technical concepts quickly and easily is important, our emphasis will be more on your personality, drive, and communication skills. You will need to balance many demands so being able to multi-task in a fun but intensive environment where issue prioritisation is a critical skill. A positive, can-do attitude and the ability to integrate within the team in addition to using your initiative are also essential.
