Type: Permanent, Full Time 39 Hours

Russell Taylor Group have a fantastic opportunity for a Materials Science / Engineering Graduate to join our client's clean energy facility in the Hitchin area working with some very exciting customers in multiple technical disciplines. Our client is a Global business with massive scope to progress within. This is not a normal sales role, this role will be spent working very closely with the laboratory team so will not just be spent sitting at a desk in an office environment. Our client is looking for someone who is confident, ambitious, and passionate about Materials Science who can utilise their technical knowledge in a commercial setting. This role will predominately involve converting complex technical requests to full quotes and will include full training.

The Role:
• Conversion of complex technical Documents to quotes. Understanding of the technical documentation is key here.
• Work closely with clients on their projects- which will involve selling solutions and working with the client on a consultation approach.
• Follow up leads for future business opportunities.
• Work in close collaboration with the sales, laboratory teams as well as the general managers.
• Engage with clients and potentially new clients via phone, email, and socials.
• Contact clients to qualify the quote request.
• Calculate costing models from standard price lists for quotes.
• Provide clarification and modification of quotations when required.
• The ideal candidate will be customer focused, action oriented, approachable and patience.
• Assist in more complex PO when necessary.
• Use the CRM database to record any activities such as calls and client visits, but also ensuring that it is up to date and duplications are removed.
• Working to targets to achieve sales goals and increase chance of commission.
• Participate in client visits and events when required-this is usually lead by one of the managers and you will act as more of a Technical Support.

The Person:
• Degree in a Materials Science / Engineering Discipline
• Very confident and able to communicate with senior staff whilst working within a fast-paced environment.
• A data driven person with the ability to calculate figures such as interest, commission, discounts and apply basic concepts of algebra and geometry.
• The flexibility and confidence to proactively develop new contacts within pre-existing clients.
• Enthusiastic, willingness to learn and excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written & verbal).
• Proficient in Microsoft applications.
• Willingness to travel to various sites.
