Application Support Developer

Location: Hybrid - Borehamwood

Package: Negotiable + Benefits

We are looking for an Application Support Developer to provide technical expertise to resolve 3rd line software incidents and queries. You will primarily be responsible for resolving complex technical issues, however also implementing configuration and software updates, and contributing to the continuous improvement of our systems.

The day to day:

  • Provide expert-level support for escalated technical / software issues from 1st and 2nd line support teams within agreed timescales.

  • Diagnose and resolve complex software issues in a timely manner.

  • Perform advanced configurations and software updates to enhance systems as specified in requirements.

  • Participate in IT projects, including software updates and deployments.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful execution of projects.

  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for systems, procedures, and troubleshooting processes.

  • Share knowledge with team members and contribute to training initiatives.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation to enhance operational efficiency.

  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend and implement best practices.

  • Provide regular reporting to IT Manager

  • Ensuring that relevant process documentation and procedures are kept up to date and in line with internal IT standards.

About you:

  • Experience as a Third Line Engineer or similar role.

  • Ensuring that relevant incident, problem and change escalations are dealt with appropriately.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to analyse and resolve complex technical issues.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Understanding of software development life cycle in an agile environment

  • Background in software development/engineering with commercial experience in Microsoft tech stack (C# .NET, SQL Server)

  • Experience with REST APIs

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or relevant work experience.
