API Engineer Tech Lead

We're currently looking for an experienced and skilled API Engineer Tech Lead. In this role, you'll oversee a team of API engineers, guiding them in crafting, deploying, and maintaining resilient, scalable APIs. You'll be pivotal in shaping our API architecture, upholding industry standards, and steering the technical roadmap for API development across the organisation.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support a team of API engineers, providing technical guidance and fostering teamwork.
  • Establish coding standards, best practices, and development processes for API projects.
  • Collaborate with other teams to define API requirements and specifications.
  • Design scalable API architectures to meet business goals.
  • Actively participate in coding and implementing APIs.
  • Review code to ensure quality and identify areas for improvement.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive API documentation.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and new technologies in API development.
  • Drive continuous improvement in API development processes.
  • Assist in evaluating future API management and integration tools.

Requirements:

  • Proven background as a technical lead in API development.
  • Strong skills in programming languages such as Java, Python, or Node.js.
  • Thorough understanding of API design principles, RESTful architecture, and microservices.
  • Familiarity with low-code API technologies.
  • Experience using API testing, versioning, and documentation tools.
