Role Overview


The role of Alumni Relations Manager will hold a pivotal position in fostering a vibrant and mutually rewarding community of alumni and donors, ensuring each member feels appreciated and empowered. They will spearhead initiatives in alumni relations, legacy contributions, and regular giving, actively shaping how our alumni and donor network is engaged, appreciated, acknowledged, and honoured.

Main Responsibilities

  • Spearhead the alumni relations strategy.
  • Serve as the primary liaison, promptly addressing inquiries and ensuring timely responses.
  • Foster genuine connections with the community to leverage their influence, expertise, voluntary assistance, and financial contributions.
  • Organise and execute events, managing all logistical aspects within budget and schedule constraints, conducting post-event assessments, reports, and database upkeep.
  • Enhance presence on social media platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.) within the Development and Alumni Relations domain.
  • Assist in fundraising efforts for regular and legacy giving campaigns, utilizing various channels such as direct mail, email, web, and social media to engage supporters.
  • Innovate and implement strategies targeting specific segments (e.g., recent graduates, Founders Society, and less engaged segments) to educate them on philanthropic impact and garner support.
  • Maintain accurate financial records related to fundraising activities in collaboration with Finance, including fee rebates, donations, and deposits.
  • Regularly provide financial and analytical reports to the Development Director, detailing income, direct debits, standing orders, and Gift Aid collections.

Requirements

  • Possession of a degree-level qualification or relevant professional experience showcasing equivalent capabilities.
  • Familiarity with fundraising and alumni relations theory and practice.
  • Understanding of safeguarding principles.
  • Prior experience in alumni relations or marketing settings.
  • Track record of developing and executing multi-channel communication and engagement strategies.
  • Proven experience in organizing and delivering impactful in-person and online events of high quality.
