RSR Housing are currently recruiting on behalf of our client based in Manchester for an Allocations Officer.

The purpose of this role is to identify suitable emergency temporary accommodation and longer-term temporary accommodation for households that present as homeless.

This is a full time, initial 3-month contract, offering a pay rate of £12.07.

Main Duties:

  • Provide intensive support for customers with complex support needs offering holistic support plans that agree individual targets and work towards the achievement of longer-term solutions and aspirations.
  • Maintain accurate, up to date records and collect data and information to evidence performance around service delivery to ensure achievement of internal and external targets.
  • Responsible for all aspects of the offering and placement of homeless households in temporary accommodation, ensuring accommodation offered is suitable and discharges homelessness duties in a timely and cost-effective manner
  • Booking in applicants to accommodation.
  • Answering and replying to the Duty phone line and email inbox.
  • Completing Housing Benefits claim forms.
  • Completing QL, rent accounts.
  • Creating tenancies and recording on in house systems.

Essential Requirements:

  • The role can be challenging and demanding, as the work will include working issues relating to drugs, alcohol, mental health and physical health problems so experience around this would be desirable.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, accurately and in ways that promote understanding.
  • Demonstrate the ability to organise multiple tasks in the most effective way
  • Ability to analyse situations, diagnose problems, identify the key issues, establish and evaluate alternative courses of action and produce a logical, practical and acceptable solution.
  • Skills to use ICT systems to obtain and analyse data and present it effectively through a variety of ICT channels.

Role is subject to DBS check at the relevant level.
