We're currently seeking an Airfreight Import Coordinator to enrich our Airfreight team located in Birmingham. In this role, you'll play a pivotal part in ensuring operational excellence and fostering enduring client relationships. Your responsibilities will encompass developing and maintaining customer standard operating procedures, ensuring financial transparency across job files, and delivering accurate import documentation in a timely manner.

Key Duties:

  • Crafting and upholding customer standard operating procedures
  • Maintaining a clear financial grasp of assigned job files
  • Providing precise and timely reports to the department manager
  • Taking ownership and demonstrating accountability for operational excellence
  • Upholding a customer-centric approach in all business actions
  • Ensuring accurate and timely paperwork related to import documentation issuance
  • Exhibiting commercial savvy and a comprehensive understanding of job profit and loss
  • Handling freight and invoicing tasks
  • Generating operational reports and promptly addressing any anomalies
  • Cultivating and sustaining robust relationships with suppliers, airlines, and overseas partners/agents
  • Adhering to company policies and procedures

Key Performance Metrics:

  • Timely and accurate response to client queries
  • Precision and promptness in creating and issuing deliveries and documentation
  • Preventing airline storage costs
  • Ensuring accuracy and timeliness in freight/rating processes in line with company policies
  • Meeting company policy time frames in addressing purchase queries
  • Effective cost and sales management
  • Following operational reports diligently and escalating anomalies as needed
  • Adhering to country-specific requirements

Desired Skills:

  • Proficiency in airfreight industry operations
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and meet fixed deadlines
  • Strong numerical and commercial acumen
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Office applications (knowledge of Cargowise is advantageous)
  • Proactive, collaborative team player with excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Enthusiastic, adaptable, and self-motivated
  • Willingness to work overtime and/or adjust start/finish times during peak periods
