 Air Conditioning Engineer (Building Services)

Job Summary

My client is seeking a dynamic and skilled mobile Air Conditioning Engineer to join our rapidly growing Building Services team. Our team operates across various properties in London, serving a diverse clientele that includes both public and private organizations. As an Air Conditioning Engineer, you’ll play a crucial role in maintaining and optimizing various air conditioning systems, from splits to VRF, chillers, and heat pumps.

Key Responsibilities

Planned Maintenance and Repairs: You’ll be involved in a mix of planned maintenance and repair tasks. While we operate a call-out service, rest assured that call-out volumes are currently low.

Relationship Building:

Short-Term Objectives (12 months):

Cultivate strong relationships with fellow Building Services engineers.

Foster excellent rapport with our valued customers.

Ensure seamless service delivery as per contractual agreements.

Collaborate with the team to achieve collective goals.

Medium-Term Objectives (24 months):

Strive for high performance standards.

Aim for outstanding customer satisfaction ratings.

Become a trusted advisor to our clients.

Drive innovation in service delivery.

Identify and train talent to deliver cutting-edge air conditioning services.

Facilitate the smooth onboarding of new customer sites.

Contribute to exceeding team budget targets.

Role Description:

Proactive Approach: Bring innovation to your service delivery.

Cultural Fit: Embrace the culture and work comfortably within it.

Service Execution: Ensure routine services, maintenance, and repairs align with SLAs.

Mentoring: Guide and mentor junior team members (“improvers” and apprentices).

Technical Proficiency: Utilize and understand a Computer-Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) system.

Planned Preventative Maintenance: Execute scheduled maintenance tasks.

On-Site Support: Assist with technical issues, providing expert guidance.

Accurate Reporting: Ensure all service reports are meticulously completed within contractual requirements.

Qualifications and Skills

Degree in Engineering: A 3-year Honours degree (Bachelor’s of Engineering, BEng) or a 4-year Honours degree (Master’s of Engineering, MEng) in Building Services, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.

Competencies: Comfortable working with various air conditioning systems.

Salary Range:

Newly Trained Engineer: £20,000 - £25,000 per year.

Experienced Engineer: £25,000 - £35,000 per year.

Senior or Chartered Engineer: £35,000 - £55,000 per year.

Career Development

Incorporated Engineer (IEng): Bachelor’s degree holders can work towards IEng status.

Chartered Engineer (CEng): Master’s degree holders can qualify as CEng after years of Continuous Professional Development and membership with the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) or a relevant professional body.
