Salary/Grade: Grade 3 £13.32-£14.93 p/h based on experience

Summary of the Role: We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Administrator to join our team at the Doctoral Academy. In this role, you will provide essential support in delivering funders' reporting activities, managing correspondence, and offering guidance to supervisors and Postgraduate Researchers. You will also act as the first point of contact for Postgraduate Research operations and assist with event management and other operational duties as required.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in delivering funders' reporting activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Generate bespoke correspondence, record replies, and maintain accurate records.
  • Provide advice and guidance to supervisors and Postgraduate Researchers on project costs and RTSG accounts.
  • Act as the first point of contact for Postgraduate Research operations at the Doctoral Academy front desk.
  • Support with event management and other operational duties.
  • Assist with managing generic FSE related email in-box(es).
  • Undertake specific tasks as required to support the efficient functioning of the Doctoral Academy.


Most Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
  • Flexibility and responsiveness to customer needs while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Digital literacy with proficiency in standard IT packages.
  • Relevant experience working with administrative processes.


Working Hours/Hybrid: The position involves 35 hours per week with core hours from 10 am to 4 pm. Full-time on-campus presence is expected, with noprovision for remote work. Weekly team days in the office may be organised to facilitate collaboration and team building.
Additional Information: Candidates will receive comprehensive training and support to ensure success in the role.
