SPR Careers are proud to be working with a public sector client to recruit for an Active Ageing Co-ordinator on a temporary basis.
All candidates must have an Enhance DBS – Adults.

Active Ageing Co-ordinator Job Summary:
Delivering of the Active Ageing Programme over a 1-year period – ensuring that key service performance indicators are met.
The Active Ageing programme will focus on building and enhancing community capacity in the city for the 55+ age group in terms of physical activity provision. The post will increase the number of age / ability suitable physical activity sessions each week across the city, support community clubs and groups to develop their offer, and enhance / create pathways with the NHS.
The post will also oversee, support, and monitor the Active Ageing Care Home programme.

Duties and Responsibilities of Active Ageing Co-ordinator:
  • To deliver the Active Ageing Programme.
  • Undertake consultation and co-production with target age group and utilise to inform the delivery of Active Ageing offer through the development of people panel.
  • Recruit and manage community champion volunteers to support the work across the city.
  • Support sports clubs and community groups to develop their provision to offer either masters or walking sport.
  • To ensure sports club and community groups are compliant with health and safety, national governing bodies and associations rules, regulations, and guidance.
  • Work with WV Active sites, the Bob Jones Centre and community centres to review and develop their current 55+ offer and develop new opportunities for the age group.
  • Work with WV Active Marketing Executive to develop a bespoke campaign for this age group.
  • Connect with the NHS and seek opportunities to develop prevention and treatments pathways into community settings.
  • To undertake the risk management of the Active Ageing programme.
  • Management of the Active Ageing instructors.
  • To co-ordinate the Active Ageing activities and wider offer across Wolverhampton.
  • Actively seek funding opportunities for the Active Ageing programme.
