Semi-Senior Accountant - General Practice Accountancy Firm 

Location: Wickford, Essex, United Kingdom

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and examine financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles and regulations.

- Assist in the preparation of year-end financial statements, tax returns, and VAT returns for clients.

- Conduct thorough analysis and reconciliation of financial data, identifying discrepancies and providing solutions.

- Collaborate with Senior Accountants and Managers to provide financial advice and support to clients.

- Assist with payroll processing and related compliance tasks.

- Manage client accounts, ensuring prompt responses to queries and maintaining strong professional relationships.

- Stay updated on relevant tax laws, regulations, and accounting standards.

- Participate in audits and assist in resolving any audit-related issues.

- Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting processes and procedures.

Requirements:

- Previous experience in an accounting role, preferably within a General Practice Accountancy Firm.

- A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.

- Part-qualified ACCA or ACA, or qualified AAT, with a strong desire to pursue further qualifications.

- Solid understanding of UK GAAP and tax regulations.

- Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.

- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.

- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities to work well with clients and colleagues.

- Strong time management skills to meet deadlines efficiently.

- Integrity and discretion when handling sensitive financial information.
