Job Title: Accounts & Payroll Assistant

Pay Bracket: circa £26,000 - £28,000

Location: Atherton, Wigan

Hours: Flexible with hours, full time or can consider reduced hours (circa 30 hours)

We are collaborating with a retail company based in Atherton who are looking to recruit an accounts & payroll assistant to join their close-knit team. This is an integral part of the team responsible for maintaining an efficient and accurate Payroll and Accounts Administrative function within the business. The role includes working with payroll, sales ledger, purchase ledger and the retail EPOS system as well as general administrative tasks.

The ideal candidate will have previous payroll and accounts experience within as similar role and have strong communication and organisational skills.

Key Tasks:

  • Preparing and processing monthly payroll
  • Weekly sales reporting
  • Sales invoice processing
  • Purchase invoice processing
  • Processing supplier payments
  • General phone enquiries + office duties
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Petty cash control
  • Balance sheet reconciliation

An ideal person for this position will have the following attributes / skill set:

  • Sage Payroll experience is desirable
  • Experience in Sales Ledger and Purchase Ledger with ideally some payroll experience
  • Efficient transaction processing skills
  • Good organisational skills and ability to work on your own
  • Excellent interpersonal skills - to deal with customers and external contacts
