Your new role
We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Accounts Payable Supervisor to lead our Accounts Payable team across the next 6 months. In this role, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounts payable function, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, and expense reports. Reporting to the Finance Manager, your responsibilities will include
- Supervising a team of accounts payable specialists, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure team efficiency and effectiveness- Reviewing and approving invoices and payment requests in accordance with company policies and procedures- Monitoring and managing the accounts payable ageing report, resolving discrepancies and issues in a timely manner- Developing and implementing process improvements to streamline accounts payable processes and enhance efficiency- Collaborating with internal stakeholders across departments to address vendor-related inquiries and resolve payment disputes- Assisting with month-end close activities, including accruals and reconciliations- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date vendor records and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements

What you'll need to succeed

- Proven experience in accounts payable, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role- Strong understanding of accounts payable principles, processes, and best practices- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team- Advanced knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft Excel- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in processing financial transactions- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders- A proactive and solutions-oriented approach to problem-solving
