Accounts Payable Lead

Marc Daniels are urgently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Lead (hybrid-working) to oversee our clients' accounts payable department for an interim period. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of accounts payable functions, ensuring accurate raising of POs and timely processing of invoices, payments, and expense reports. The Accounts Payable Lead will maintain vendor relationships, implement best practices to optimize efficiency and accuracy within the department.

This is an interim role for 6 months minimum to take charge of their P2P process and help implement change as they go through a transformation. This role will suit someone who is looking to make an impact and improve processes with a growing and developing company.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the processing of vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy, proper coding, and timely payment.
• Review and approve invoices for payment, resolving any discrepancies or issues promptly
• Coordinate with the finance team to ensure sufficient funds are available for timely payments.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors, addressing inquiries and resolving payment issues in a professional manner.
• Negotiate payment terms and discounts with vendors to optimize cash flow and minimize costs.
• Oversee the processing and reimbursement of employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Review expense reports for accuracy and adherence to company guidelines.
• Provide regular updates to management on accounts payable metrics, trends, and issues.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation within the accounts payable function.
• Implement best practices to streamline processes, reduce errors, and enhance efficiency.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years accounts payable experience
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practice
• Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
