Accounts Payable Assistant

£10.42 Per Hour

Accounts Payable Assistant required to join a public sector organisation on a full time temporary basis. My client is looking for an ambitious and highly motivated individual who is an experienced Accounts Payable Assistant to support the team.

As the Accounts Payable Assistant you will be responsible for the entry of all data in respect of Accounts Payable in relation to the specific part of the ledger allocated, alongside the various duties below;

Key responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Assistant:

  • Deal with enquiries from suppliers regarding payments and review statements of outstanding invoices
  • Analyse and interpret basic financial payments and receipts
  • Investigate basic financial queries e.g. invoices - identifies and resolves errors / discrepancies resulting in financial calculations
  • Manipulation and inputting of data into computer databases and spreadsheets
  • Ad-hoc handling of cheques and returned cheques, records this information informing the cashier
  • Input financial spreadsheets and journals to store data e.g. invoice / debtor / payment request records
  • Assist with year end processes

Required skills and experience of the Accounts Payable Assistant:

  • Experience of working within an Accounts Payable or Finance Department environment
  • High level of IT skills including financial systems and MS Excel
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • High level of organisational skills
  • High level of analytical skills
