Ambition is thrilled to be working with a top-ranking accountancy firm who is seeking n Accounts Manager to join their Business Services team in Suffolk and Essex area. The role will be directly working on varied portfolios of clients whilst managing client relationships. The Accounts Manager will need to be a point of knowledge for the team and will take an active role in the overall development and progression of your team.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Manage the delivery accounts and corporate tax compliance/advisory work on a portfolio of clients within deadline.
  • Provide professional and prompt service, retaining and attracting clients.
  • Build trusted advisor relationships, offering accounting, tax, and commercial advice.
  • Assist and develop team members, delegating work efficiently.
  • Manage a team to foster learning, resolve issues, and promote a supportive learning environment.
  • Collaborate to achieve client objectives, undertake, manage and deliver ad-hoc work for clients as required
  • Ensure regular billing and manage WIP time to meet financial targets.
  • Identify and implement process improvements.
  • Deliver work within budget and deadlines, meeting KPIs.
  • Stay updated on technical changes.
  • Continuously develop management and non-technical skills.
  • Contribute to staff appraisals every 6 months for all staff in the accounts service line and uphold professional standards

What you need:

  • ACCA or ACA qualified (or equivalent)
  • Recent experience in a Practice firm.
  • To maintain a "clear desk" policy at the end of each working day
  • Able to communicate clearly with commercial skills, building a mutual understanding with clients about how the firm can support them and their business goals.
  • Able to support a team by applying strong interpersonal skills and intuition.
  • Forward-thinking and adaptable
