An accessories company based in Richmond are looking for a switched on and organised Accounts Assistant to join their growing team.

The role will involve working alongside the Senior Financial Accounts Assistant, Accountant & Operations Director.

The main purpose of an Accounts Assistant role is to:

  • Invoicing
  • Spreadsheet updates
  • Filing
  • Data entry on Quick Books
  • Helping with some administration duties
  • Credit cards allocation on spreadsheet and entry

Accounts Assistant Specification:

  • Maintenance, posting and reconciliation of the company’s UK overheads on QuickBooks Online
  • Updating overhead info for management reports and company budgeting
  • Monthly salary payments
  • Processing of payments to HMRC for PAYE & NIC
  • Preparation of quarterly VAT returns
  • Processing of payments to suppliers and other services, including checking/paying employee cash expenses
  • Maintenance of month end payments
  • Receipt and checking of supplier invoices against internal PO system (Unleashed)
  • Liaison with suppliers to review issues and/or confirm balances owed
  • Processing of supplier payments in multiple currencies
  • Maintain and update customer invoice lists
  • Processing payments received and associated remittances
  • Follow up debtors / overdue payments
  • Processing payments for imports and export activities
  • Day to day responsibility of financial queries
  • Monthly UK overhead breakdown review with Operations Director, including movement of funds as/when necessary

Accounts Assistant Specification:

  • Meticulous with a keen eye for detail
  • Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook etc
  • Experience with accounting packages, ideally including QuickBooks
  • Great interpersonal and communications skills
  • Ability to effectively self-manage
  • Positive and proactive
  • To have accounts experience
  • Ability to work under pressure
