Sheridan Maine are excited to be partnering with a specialist business based in the Portsmouth area,  to recruit an Accounts Assistant.  Our client is seeking someone with all-round accounting knowledge to join their small but expanding team. 

As the Accounts Assistant, your key responsibilities will include:   
  • Bank reconciliations with multiple accounts
  • Managing CIS returns, reconciliations and submissions to the HMRC
  • Posting bank payments
  • Managing credit control and receivables ledgers
  • Dealing with invoice related queries
  • Preparing and submitting VAT returns
  • Processing purchase ledger invoices
  • Raising sales ledger invoices
  • Processing of staff expenses and credit cards
  • Preparing timesheet information and hours to send to the external payroll team

Skills and experience we’re looking for: 
  • Proven working experience in accounting and finance
  • Demonstrates excellent attention to detail and time management skills
  • Motivated and excels in a fast-paced environment
  • The ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Experience in the Construction would be desirable, but is not essential
