Accounts Assistant

  • Location: Brimsdown
  • Job Type: Full-time, Monday - Friday from 09:00 - 17:30
  • £13 - £15 per hour

An established organisation is seeking an Accounts Assistant to join their friendly team. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, enjoys working within a team, and has experience with QuickBooks. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, the successful candidate will handle various accounting tasks and contribute to the smooth running of the finance department.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Manage all aspects of purchase and sales invoices.
  • Chase outstanding payments over the telephone and maintain customer relations.
  • Process sales invoices with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Conduct bank reconciliations to ensure records are correct and up to date.
  • Process and allocate payments, ensuring financial transactions are recorded correctly.
  • Raise credit and debit notes as required, managing adjustments in financial records.
  • Work with Accountants in recording transactions correctly (external accountants visit on regular basis to deal with queries)
  • General admin tasks /duties

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an Accounts Assistant or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks is essential.
  • Working knowledge on Microsoft word / XL
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a small team.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently.
