Absolute Recruit are exclusively partnered with an omnichannel brand looking for an Accounts Assistant to join them, as they embark on ambitious growth plans over the next 18 months! The business operates out of their London HQ (South-East London) and they have retail, wholesale and e-commerce operations spanning across Europe. Further plans include expanding across other locations and acquiring other brands into the group and this presents an excellent opportunity for an Accounts Assistant looking for progression.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, expenses, payment processing, and reconciliation of accounts
  • Respond to queries from vendors, customers, and internal stakeholders regarding transactions/account balances
  • Prepare/maintain financial records (journals, ledgers, and bank reconciliations)
  • Assist with VAT returns, month-end/year-end, preparation of accruals, prepayments, and adjusting journal entries
  • Assist with payroll processing, calculating hours, preparation of payroll reports and dealing with external payroll providers
 
Key requirements:
  • AAT/ACCA/CIMA studier
  • Solid transactional accounting background (2 yrs minimum experience in a varied accounts assistant role required)
  • Experience in an SME or start-up environment is a must have requirement
  • Knowledge of retail, e-commerce, wholesale would be helpful but not essential
  • Good excel skills (Vlook-ups, pivot tables)
  • Prior experience using Xero would be advantageous but not essential
 
Salary and Benefits:
  • £30,000 to £35,000 salary depending on experience
  • 22 days annual leave + 8 bank holidays off
