Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Assistant proficient in using Sage accounting software to join our team. The Accounts Assistant will be responsible for various accounting tasks including processing transactions, reconciling accounts, preparing financial reports, and supporting the overall financial operations of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilize Sage accounting software to record, store, and analyze financial data.
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions with Sage records.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and documentation.
  • Assist with payroll processing and related documentation.
  • Monitor and track expenses, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Respond to accounting inquiries from management, staff, and vendors.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to support budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Assist in year-end audit preparations and provide necessary documentation.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as an Accounts Assistant or similar role.
  • Proficiency in using Sage accounting software (Sage 50, Sage 200, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial record-keeping.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other office software applications.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills.
  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., AAT) are a plus.
