Accounts Assistant
  • Annual Salary: £28,000 to £30,000
  • Location: Wickford
  • Job Type: Full-time NO HYBRID

We are seeking a dedicated Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. This role is suited for a detail-oriented individual with a knack for numbers and a passion for finance. As an Accounts Assistant, you will support our daily accounting tasks and contribute to the efficient operation of our finance department.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Assist with routine accounting duties including processing transactions, maintaining cost reports, and managing invoices.
  • Support the preparation of budgetary reports and financial statements.
  • Reconcile invoices and identify discrepancies.
  • Create and update expense reports.
  • Process reimbursement forms.
  • Prepare bank deposits.
  • Enter financial transactions into internal databases.
  • Check spreadsheets for accuracy.
  • Maintain digital and physical financial records.
  • Issue invoices to customers and external partners, as needed.
  • Review and file payroll documents.
  • Participate in quarterly and annual audits.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven work experience as an Accounts Assistant or similar role.
  • Familiarity with finance regulations.
  • Good math skills and the ability to spot numerical errors.
  • Hands-on experience with MS Excel and accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks).
  • Organization skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information.
  • AAT qualification or working towards an accounting degree is advantageous.
