Accounts Assistant (Entry-Level)
  • Annual Salary: £26,000 to £28,000
  • Location: Southend on Sea
  • Job Type: Full-time (NO HYBRID)

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated entry-level Accounts Assistant to join our finance department. This role is ideal for someone who is just starting their career in finance and is eager to learn and grow within the field. The successful candidate will be involved in a variety of tasks that are fundamental to the financial operations of the company.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Assist with the preparation of financial documents such as invoices, bills, and accounts payable and receivable.
  • Complete bank reconciliations.
  • Enter financial information into appropriate software programs.
  • Manage company ledgers.
  • Process business expenses.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits.
  • Verify balances in account books and rectify discrepancies.
  • Verify bank deposits.
  • Manage day-to-day transactions.
  • Record office expenditures and ensure these expenses are within the set budget.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly financial reports.
  • Assist with payroll administration.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Strong mathematical and numerical skills.
  • Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with relevant computer software (e.g., SAP).
  • Qualifications (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) is a plus but not required.
  • Good organisational and time-management abilities.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to spot numerical errors.
