We are partnering with a leading Customs Brokerage organisation who are seeking an Accounts Assistant to join their growing team in Chelmsford.

The role will be responsible for analysing financial data, maintaining strict records and upholding the standards of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough analysis of financial information
  • Maintain comprehensive records in accordance with organizational standards
  • Ensure accuracy in records of incoming and outgoing payments
  • Handle payroll tasks as necessary
  • Assist in the preparation of tax documents when required
  • Ensure timely payment of invoices and follow up on outstanding client debts
  • Liaise with vendors and suppliers to verify charges and ensure prompt receipt of payments
  • Review financial reports and communicate findings as needed
  • Engage with clients to address account statuses, charges, or discrepancies
  • Stay updated on industry trends and developments through ongoing education opportunities
  • Support the accounting department in daily, monthly, and annual activities
  • Maintain accurate ledgers, invoices, and receipts
  • Verify, record, and process transactions using relevant documents


Requirements and Skills:

  • Proven experience in a similar Accounting Specialist role
  • Proficient understanding of accounting principles and current financial legislation
  • Exceptional time management, communication, and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong mathematical and research skills
  • Basic proficiency in computer skills, including knowledge of bookkeeping software
  • Residence in the Chelmsford Area
  • Preferably hold a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
