Market 36 Recruitment are currently recruiting for an Accounts Assistant based just outside of Braintree on a permanent basis.

Reporting to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the accounts department.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring cashflow
  • Bank postings & reconciliations
  • Customer & supplier account reconciliation
  • Preparation, recording & reviewing of monthly accounts including currency revaluations, prepayments, accruals, journals & closing the month in Sage
  • VAT returns
  • Credit control
  • Processing monthly payroll and submission to HMRC & pension provider
  • Opening new accounts & credit checking
  • Sending customer invoices & statements
  • Processing & allocating customer payments
  • Processing Supplier payments
  • Approve and monitor staff sickness & holiday as well as processing staff monthly expenses
  • Any other ad-hoc duties or general office tasks

Experience, Knowledge & Qualifications:

  • Qualified to at least AAT Level 2
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an accounts environment
  • Flexible approach towards work
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Must be familiar with use of SAGE 50 & MS office
  • Ideally have own transport due to company location

Working hours are Monday - Friday 09:00 - 17:30.

In return our client offers a salary of up to £28,000 per annum which may be negotiable depending on experience.
