Robert Half Finance & Accounting are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant to join our client, a small, friendly office located on the outskirts of North Bristol. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the company, with the potential to move into a more senior position in future. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to contribute to the ongoing stability of this long-established, successful SME. For the right person, the Client is offering a competitive salary of:

Up to £27,000 plus benefits

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Process invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies
  • Reconcile accounts payable and receivable transactions
  • Prepare payment runs
  • Prepare CIS returns
  • Manage the timely and accurate posting of receipts and payments
  • Calculate timesheets for payroll to be processed
  • Update supplier list on PSL and ensure all customer and supplier details are correctly recorded
  • Assist in monitoring and controlling expenses by verifying and reconciling expense reports
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure accurate coding and recording of expenses
  • Conduct regular ledger reconciliations to ensure accuracy in financial records
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Communicate with vendors and suppliers regarding payment-related inquiries
  • Address customer inquiries related to billing and payments
  • Ensure accurate and timely data entry into the accounting system
  • Maintain organised and up-to-date financial records
  • Other ad hoc finance and administrative duties as required

Person Specification:

  • Proven experience in a similar role
  • Familiarity with accounting software, including MS Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
