Accounts Assistant

Hays are currently supporting a well-established professional services company who are looking to recruit an experienced Accounts Payable / Accounts Assistant. This is an exciting hybrid role that would suit someone looking to develop into an Accounts Assistant position.

Your new role

• To demonstrate a high level of technical quality and service delivery
• To always provide exceptional customer service
• To participate positively and constructively as a team member, sharing knowledge and providing feedback and suggestions
• To collaborate closely with the Finance team
• To serve as the primary point of contact for external suppliers regarding account queries
• To engage with departmental budget holders and invoice approvers
• To process purchase invoices for all group companies, meticulously coding them into relevant departments and nominal ledger accounts on Paperless
• To communicate with suppliers to follow up on outstanding invoices, address payment queries, and verify bank details
• To coordinate with internal budget holders to ensure timely approval and payment of invoices
• To reconcile supplier statements on a monthly basis
• To execute monthly payment runs and handle ad hoc supplier payments as necessary
• To conduct a monthly review of the group's purchase ledgers to ensure cleanliness and investigate any debit balances
• To provide support to the finance team with additional ad hoc duties

What you'll need to succeed

• Strong Accounts Payable experience
• Sage 50 experience
• Ability to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines
• Excellent communication skills
