Finance Assistant

Burgess Hill

Salary £27,000-30,000 per annum

We’re working with a long-standing, privately owned business who has had an established industry presence for over a century. Reporting directly to the qualified Finance Director, this individual will undertake a varied role covering several aspects of transactional finance but with a focus on reconciliation work and sales ledger. They will be required to support colleagues across finance and enjoy role variety from doing so.

This individual will join a close-knit team that has an excellent approach towards colleague support and a team-focused ethos. It’s a friendly, down-to-earth office environment where people work hard but also enjoy a good sense of humour, job security, and a feel valued by their employer.

Duties:

  • Reconciliation of the operating account monthly
  • Reconciliation of the FX account and process the monthly expense journal
  • Top up and order new cards as and when required by the business
  • Reconciliation of income account monthly
  • Reconciliation of fees account monthly
  • World pay reconciliation monthly
  • Processing and preparation of monthly recurring journals
  • Daily Bank BACS receipts updated on Internal systems and Nominal payments on Sage
  • Production of the monthly sales ledger invoices
  • Production of the aged debtors at the end of each month
  • Ad hoc audit work
  • Assistance across the wider finance team

The ideal candidate:

  • Good reconciliations experience
  • Sage experience (negotiable)
  • Evidence of good employer longevity
  • Excellent attention to detail
