Job opportunity: Accounts Assistant
Location: Coventry
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 9am-5.30pm
Salary: £23,000-£26,000 per annum DOE
Contract type: Permanent

Empowered Personnel, a leading recruitment agency, is currently seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant on behalf of our client, a company specialising in fast-moving consumer goods based in Coventry. Joining a small and dynamic team, you'll play a pivotal role in maintaining their financial operations and contributing to their growth. We are seeking for an individual with a can-do attitude, strong initiative, and enthusiasm for both independent work and teamwork.

Job summary:
As an Accounts Assistant, you'll manage the company's accounts, ensuring accurate processing of invoices, prompt payments, and meticulous maintenance of financial records. Expertise in using Sage is essential for this role.

Key duties:
• Organise and manage customer invoices, ensuring timely payments and escalation of overdue accounts to credit control.
• Maintain precise supplier paperwork packs and load invoices onto accounting systems like Sage and Navision / Business Central.
• Address invoice queries promptly, resolving issues or directing them to the relevant department.
• Assist in payment scheduling and preparation of creditors reports for Finance Manager review.
• Create and maintain customer/supplier accounts with accurate data entry.
• Systematically organise and file all invoices and paperwork for easy retrieval.
• Aid in sending missing order invoices to customers and facilitating payment requests.
• Collaborate with sales and warehouse teams to generate credit memos when required.
• Provide support to Finance Manager/Directors with additional tasks as required.

We're looking for someone with:
• Prior experience as an Accounts Assistant
• Expertise in using Sage accounting software.
• A positive and adaptable attitude, particularly under pressure.
• Initiative to work independently and collaboratively within a small team environment.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Excellent time management abilities.
• Effective problem-solving skills to address root causes.
• Outstanding administrative capabilities.
