Accounts Assistant / Accounts Administrator

Full time Position

Monday - Friday 9am to 5:30pm

Our client is seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant / Administrator to support the Financial Director in the running of the accounting function for the business.

Duties:

  • Sales Ledger - posting sales invoices, allocating receipts, checking PO's, Chasing debtors, monthly statement submissions
  • Purchase Ledger - posting purchase invoices, matching to POs, Supplier payments, checking creditor statements
  • On-line electronic banking
  • Month and year end reconciliations
  • Management of Pleo expense cards, daily checking and chasing receipts
  • Checking & filing quarterly VAT returns
  • Payroll, management of personnel records via Bright HR, hours weekly reporting

Experience / Knowledge

  • Ideally fully AAT qualified at a minimum with strong bookkeeping
  • You must be fully competent in Xero cloud accounting software (or QuickBooks)
  • Ability to create pivots/lookup/bespoke reports in Excel is essential
  • Experience in a similar role would be ideal as this role is integral to the smooth running of the business and the person appointed will have considerable responsibility for the accounting function
  • Ability to understand & analyse the P&L, Balance Sheet
  • Familiarity with reviewing T&C's, e. supplier contracts
