Accounts Administrator required for a family run business near St Ives, Cambridgeshire.

Salary: £22,011 
Hours: 8:30am-5:00pm Monday – Friday (4:30pm finish on a Friday)

We are looking for an Accounts Administrator who enjoys variety and has a keen interest in working with numbers and monetary transactions.
The role will include supporting the accounts team with sales and purchase ledgers; ad-hoc admin duties which include processing supplier invoices, dealing with supplier and customer queries, chasing courier claims, and keeping spreadsheets up to date.  Supporting with month-ends and years-ends.
The successful candidate will need to have strong attention to detail with accuracy, conscientious and self-motivation with a can-do attitude and good communication skills and be computer literate with the ability to use Excel at an intermediate level. Ideally we would like this person to have a Level 2 Accountancy qualification or working towards it.

Tasks include:
·       Monthly - Send out statements to customers
·       Maintain and Deal with accounts customer and supplier emails 
·       Support for Creditsafe email alerts
·       Cover the Accounts Office manager with overseas orders – keeping spreadsheet up to date and dealing with incoming emails
·       Email invoices to overseas customers and deal with queries and raising the daily UK invoices
·       Support with emails from customers and sales staff
·       Initial credit checks admin for new customers and increase limits for existing customers for Accounts Office Manager sign off
·       Check and post all non Purchase Orders invoices (PO) and PO invoices to relevant suppliers accounts
·       Update freight costing sheet
·       Assist with staff expenses and company credit cards
·       Adhoc admin duties
·       Assist with month-end processes
·       Freight claims
·       Create, record and post payment links and support with chasing with credit control

You must be:
  • Self-motivated and keen to learn
  • Able to work on own initiative as well as part of a team
  • Able to pay attention to detail and self-check
Skills required:
  • Excellent telephone manner
  • Computer literate, confidence in use of MS Office, internet and email in particular, Excel
  • Proven experience in an Accounts role within an accounts team
  • Proven people management experience
