Accountant | Leeds | Up to £300 per day via Umbrella| Luxury Retailer | 6-month Contract

An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Accountant to join a luxury retailer on a temporary basis. You will be joining a company whos’ culture emphasises growth, collaboration, people, and environment. This is a hybrid role based in Leeds with the expectations of 2/3 days a week in office.

Details of the role:

You will be responsible for the Record to Report ("RTR") for EMEIA regions in accordance to IFRS and local GAAP requirements. For this you will take ownership of a set of small entities accounts.

This role will allow you to continuously improve business processes and partner with processes owners to understand how to improve future delivery of services.

Responsibilities include:

• Conducting RTR transactions and generating reports

• Compiling balance sheet reconciliations

• Handling local compliance tasks such as statutory accounts, VAT, and tax returns

• Addressing numerous ad hoc inquiries and conducting analyses as needed, prioritizing tasks to ensure timely responses

• Collaborating with internal stakeholders like Group Finance and the Commercial team, as well as external stakeholders like External Audit

• Upholding compliance with Group Policies, including ensuring the efficiency of internal controls over financial reporting

Skills required:

The successful candidate will be studying towards an accounting qualification with a few years’ experience in a large multinational organisation. Use of SAP and experience with IFRS / GAAP is essential. Experience working within the retail industry is highly desirable. Softer skills required would include excellent communication skills and strong organisational skills.
