Accountant

Venture Recruitment Partners are working with a professional services firm in Southsea, Portsmouth. The client is looking to recruit an Accountant on a permanent basis. The sits with a growing team, supported by a team of both commercial and technical individuals.

Key Accountabilities

• Preparation and submission of statutory accounts.
• Preparation of tax returns and assessments for a range of organisational structures.
• Assist with VAT returns.
• Some audit work, though the role is principally accounts-focused.
• Manage workflow and ensure client work is completed and delivered to a high standard and in a timely manner.
• Liaise with HMRC on client matters.
• Confidently liaise with clients, attending meetings and helping with queries.
• Support with general accountancy services and business advice.
• Manage a diverse and impressive portfolio of clients.
• Provide training and development for junior staff.
• Work closely with senior team members.
• Promote and strive for customer service excellence.
• Assist with ad-hoc projects as required.

Skills, knowledge and Experience

It would be useful if you have the below:

• Part qualified / finalist / qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA with 3 years + experience within a finance role
• Being able to build and maintain strong relationships with key business stakeholders and be confident enough to challenge when necessary.
• Proactive individual with experience working in a flexible and changing environment
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach
