Our client is a growing business in the retail industry, providing high quality, sustainable products to businesses nationwide.

The business is made up of like-minded individuals who are real specialists in what they do. Founded by four friends with over 80 years combined experience in their industry, this business has built strong roots in Blackburn and is continuing to grow year on year. They have built a unique and innovative business designed to support clients in their industry to allow them to offer the best service possible.

They are looking for an experienced bookkeeper/accountant to join the team with responsibilities that will encompass a wide range of accounting tasks. You will support the Finance Director who will continue to develop your skills and progress you into the role of Financial Controller.

How you’ll spend your time:

· Maintain and reconcile bank statements to ensure accuracy in financial records

· Customer Returns/Refunds

· Reconcile debtor’s accounts, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies

· Completion and submission of VAT Returns

· Assistance in Month End duties, including accruals, prepayments and journals

· Expenses: Checking, authorising, and processing

· Assisting the Finance Director with analysis work

· Oversee with the Distribution team and resolve any discrepancies

· Perform other ad hoc duties as required to support the finance team and other departments

This opportunity will be great for you if…

· You have at least 3 years experience in accounting

· You are Qualified/Part Qualified AAT/ACCA/CIMA or QBE

· You have experience of multi-currency transactions - although this is not essential

· You have strong attention to detail

· You have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team

· You have strong IT/excel skills

· You have experience using Xero - again not essential
