We are seeking an Accountant to join our clients team, a chartered accountants firm in the Colchester region, offering a role that encompasses a variety of accounting tasks including accounts preparation, VAT returns, and client liaison.

The ideal candidate will be at least AAT level 3 qualified, have a strong foundation in Microsoft Excel and Word, as well as a good understanding of online bookkeeping software.

This position may also involve assisting with audits and conducting basic personal and corporation tax work.

Day to day tasks of the role:

• Preparing accounts for sole traders, limited companies, and partnerships.

• Completing and submitting VAT returns.

• Maintaining regular communication with clients to ensure their accounting needs are met.

• Assisting with audits as required.

• Handling basic personal and corporation tax work to support the tax team.

The required skills & qualifications we seek from interested applicants are:

• Experience in a similar role within an accountancy practice
