Blusource Recruitment are working with a successful accountancy firm to help them hire into a very important job role, acting as a lead figure in a Manager through to Partner Designate job capacity to lead the delivery of accountancy services to clients. There is a very clear path to Partnership here, so if you are ambitious and keen to develop to that level, this opportunity could suit, with the firm commutable from any areas around Derby, Burton-on-Trent, Belper and surrounding towns.

You will be a proven accountant / professional, ACA or ACCA qualified and with strong experience gained in practice, your focus will be to organise work, oversee staff, manage client relationships, ensure technical compliance / standards and work next to other members of the management team to develop the firm. You may still be developing towards this level of responsibility and not yet a Manager or an experienced Manager, all levels of experience will be considered if you are the right character fit long term for this firm.

This is a rare opportunity, one for a capable and skilled accountant from an accountancy practice background to elevate their career, salary and future prospects. The firm have modern methods and there is great opportunity for growth and continued progression.

You might have had your own client base, or currently have that and want to merge with a successful independent firm, or be ambitious to develop but finding that opportunity limited in your firm.

This firm are ideally looking full-time, but would certainly consider the right person, part-time hours.

Acting as an advisor to your clients, other aspects of the role include being a staff manager, reviewer and client contact.

Systems used include taxcalc, brightpay, xero, quickbooks and sage.

  • The quality of the firms client base is very high, they only work with clients they get along with and have the same ethos, so if you enjoy building relationships with like-minded clients, this role could really stand out.
  • Clients are typically small to medium sized, with some clients large enough to require an audit, but that is a smaller part of the client base.
  • You can put your stamp on things here, reviewing how the firm approaches marketing, software, systems etc.
  • The firm are super efficient, barely anyone works overtime and they were well-ahead of the workload in January for example.
  • Full flexible-hours are on offer, but the firm are largely office based, with nice premises and new computers etc.
