My client is a prominent London Multi Academy Trust, looking to recruit a Financial Controller to join their central finance team.

The role will lead the small central finance team and will lead on the preparation and reporting of the monthly management accounts for each academy within the Trust, ensuring funds in each academy are spent appropriately. You’ll work closely with the team in ensuring that all day today financial activities for the academies are managed within agreed timescales and set controls. You’ll ensure all systems are updated and reporting is timely and in line with required annual returns. You’ll work alongside the Director of Finance to develop the Trust finance strategy, engaging with several key finance and on finance stakeholders to gain support.

The ideal candidate will be commercially astute and have excellent communication and negotiation skills. Experience of the school academy sector is essential. You will be adept at building strong, positive relationships and enjoy critiquing processes and procedures to ensure the function operates efficiently. This post offers an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and enthusiastic professional to join a new and growing multi academy trust. The role will involve will visits schools within the local vicinity to develop a good working knowledge of those you are supporting.

A good pattern of hybrid working is on offer and due to the need of the role, a candidate available at short notice is preferred.
