AJ Chambers are delighted to be working alongside a well-established accountancy practice, on their search for an AAT Accounts Assistant to join their friendly and supportive team in St Ives.

If you’re a current AAT Apprentice and are looking to take on more responsibility and be part of a highly supportive training firm, this could be the ideal role for you.

What will your day-to-day role look like?

  • Prepare accounts for sole traders, limited companies and partnerships
  • Prepare self-assessment tax returns and P11D’s
  • Liaising clients and HMRC, communicating and resolving financial and compliance issues
  • Completing bookkeeping and VAT tasks, when required
  • Assisting with the computations for personal and corporation tax returns
  • Assist in the preparation of other returns to HMRC as required

What are they looking for?

  • 1 year + in a practice environment
  • Experience in preparing draft financial statements
  • Experience with general bookkeeping duties
  • General knowledge of VAT
  • Good working knowledge of Excel and IT packages such as Xero and Sage is desireable
  • Tax return experience will be a bonus, but not essential
